Diorama: Designing a Cultural Ecosystem in Argentina’s NEA Region

Diorama is more than a cultural production company—it is a platform for expression, collaboration, and community-building in Argentina’s NEA region. For over a decade, we’ve designed and executed a wide range of initiatives that empower local voices, amplify regional identities, and build meaningful bridges between artists and their audiences.

What began as a self-published cultural magazine has evolved into a multi-disciplinary studio that provides editorial, production, communication, and press services for some of the region’s most important cultural events.

The Challenge

In the early 2010s, the NEA region of Argentina had a vibrant but fragmented cultural scene. Artists, musicians, and creatives were producing remarkable work, yet lacked platforms for exposure, connection, and documentation. The challenge was clear: how do we create sustainable visibility for local culture while building infrastructure for future growth?

Our Response: Diorama Magazine

We launched Revista Diorama as an independent print magazine that would celebrate, document, and connect the emerging cultural landscape of northeastern Argentina.

  • Format: Monthly, full-color, 48-page print magazine

  • Distribution: Free circulation in Corrientes and Resistencia

  • Content Focus: Music, visual arts, literature, design, and regional identity

  • Design Approach: Each issue featured cover artwork by a different local designer or illustrator—transforming the magazine into a collaborative canvas for visual experimentation.

As co-directors, Griselda Cazorla and I handled editorial strategy, graphic design, advertising sales, and distribution. The magazine became an authentic voice for the region’s cultural scene—highlighting its diversity, originality, and vitality.

Impact

  • Revista Diorama ran for two years and quickly became a respected platform within the cultural sector.

  • It was recognized as a legitimate, high-quality publication that represented the NEA region with authenticity and professionalism.

  • We archived two years of emerging cultural production—a resource still referenced by artists, researchers, and cultural institutions today.

Beyond Publishing: Cultural Production & Press

As Diorama evolved, we expanded into cultural production, programming, and communications. A key long-term collaboration has been with Festival del Taninero, the province of Chaco’s official chamamé festival and Mercado del Chamamé, a side music showcase of the province of Corrientes's official chamamé festival.

Since 2011, we have played a central role in NEA regionNEA region cultural scene circuit:

  • Site and logistics coordination

  • Artist and technical crew management

  • Press campaigns and digital strategy

  • Brand and identity alignment across media

Our contribution helped transform Argentina’s NEA region into a cornerstone of the cultural scene circuit, expanding its audience reach and impact.

Reflections

With Diorama, we didn’t just design graphics—we designed systems, narratives, and connections. This project taught me how cultural design extends far beyond the page or the screen. It’s about curating meaning, building trust, and creating the conditions for creativity to flourish.
